One of the upcoming procedures for breast augmentation is fat grafting. The fat grafting procedure for breast augmentation involves using body fat from one part of the body to reconstruct the breast. Some experts have recommended the fat grafting procedure as a better alternative to silicon implants and saline implants. But now the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) have warned that women should treat this procedure with caution.

Safety guidelines
a. Fat grafting breast augmentation might interfere with the accuracy of breast cancer detection through self examination, mammography, ultrasound or magnetic resonance imaging.
b. The ASAPS have said that there are not enough studies and data to prove that the procedure is safe.
c. Studies are on to determine if this is a safe procedure.
d. In the long run, women may suffer from low survival rates of the fat cells.
e. The low survival rates of fat cells in the breast may also cause cysts, calcification and scarring.
