Poupie Cadolle makes bras, corsets, waist-clinchers and full-body girdles. The company was founded in 1889 by Poupie's great-great-grandmother, Herminie, a feminist often credited with inventing the modern bra. Poupie's clientele includes Naomi Campbell, Mariah Carey and past customers include Coco Chanel, who had a minimiser to flatten her bust, and the spy Mata Hari, who wanted a metal bra.

Poupie's says that the bra's are the most difficult item of clothing to make, all manufacturer's make bra's only to cover the nipple, we manufacture bra's to support the bust. Many of the customers (she has a database of 2,000 clients, who visit on average every three years), albeit ones willing to pay upwards of €555 (£380) for a bra.
