A recent study presented at the conference of American Society of Plastic Surgeons reveals that the women who have undergone lumpectomy and radiation therapy for breast cancer are feeling unhappy with the results. Most women have thought of going for additional re constructive surgery.

According to the study of ASPS though lumpectomy is to correct breast cancer and doesn't let women undergo any additional reconstructive surgery, it fails to do so in many cases. Patients have only felt that after lumpectomy, patients feel that they are free from cancer regardless of how their breasts look. The conference also suggested that patients should understand lumpectomy is for saving their breasts but not for exact cosmetic outcome.
