This is in honor of October's National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Developed and promoted by Curves in collaboration with Olivia Newton-John, this device, named the Liv Breast Examination Aid,.is manufactured by Advanced Medical Design International, of Orlando, Fla.

Highlights of the Liv Breast Examination Aid
a. This is a heart-shaped, saline-filled tool.
b. A woman has to hold it against her breast as she places the corresponding arm behind her head.
c. She then has to glide her fingers in a circular motion along the flat device.
d. This enables her to feel tissue for lumps that may not be as noticeable otherwise.
e. This is not meant for use as a replacement for a mammogram or clinical breast exam by a doctor.
f. It is available at a few Curves locations.
g. This device is approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
