A panel of plastic surgeons has concluded that the Upright Positional MRI is the most effective in evaluating breast implants. This discussion was held at the annual meeting of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery in New York City from held from April 19-24, 2007. The FONAR Upright MRI makes it possible for doctors to see a breast in its natural, fully-weight loaded position. So far this was mainly used in imaging of the spine.

Procedure Highlights
a. This is a whole body MRI with Full Range of Motion (ROM) Multi-Position imaging (mpMRI).
b. Patients can be scanned in standing, sitting, in flexion, in extension and in the position that generates symptoms.
c. It enables a physician to get pictures of the pathology causing the symptoms.
d. It also has all the functionalities of a conventional MRI where the patient has to lie down for the scanning.
e. It enables easier detection of problems.
