Default Re: Fat Transfer/fat injections

I'm sorry to hear of the experiences with fat grafting in this thread. It does work well and provide nice results in most cases. Nothing works in all cases or for every patient. As I explained above, I do not recommend fat grafting in the lower lid area. As for the jaw line, fat grafting can be very helpful. Certainy some fat will not survive and in some cases more than one procedure is necessary for the best result. Depending upon the amount of irregularity being corrected it can take a fair amount of fat grafts to reach a good result.

Fat injections can seem temporary, but are usually very long lasting if not permanent. As with any procedure, different patients will have different experiences.

I hope this info helps.

Thank you and I did a lot of research with fat injections being going forth and read many positive results. Unfortunately, maybe the scarring (pulling about mid-way between chin and ear) is too severe or maybe, I should have chosen another doctor. He is the only doctor in the area I could find that did fat injections. I was trying to avoid a mini facelift, but I think that having the skin along my jawline tightened a little is the only thing will work to improve the contour. I'm having a hard time find any doctors in this area that do mini facelifts too. I thought that was a fairly common procedure.

Dr. Rubenstein, do you by any chance, know of any doctors in the New Orleans area that perform mini-facelifts?

I know Dr. Calvin Johnson has a good reputation but he does the smas facelifts only. I went to see him and he was a little wishy/washy as to what I needed. Then he ended up telling me I should go to NY to see Dr. Coleman for fat injections, which, with a 13 yr. old., is nearly impossible. Thanks.
