I'm 59 years old and I'd love to have a "lift" of some kind, but don't know which I need. I thought I wanted the Quicklift, but now find myself more confused than ever. I'd love to hear about anyone's experiences with Quicklift. mini-lifts, Lifestyle lifts. |

I've never done any lifts but I do know the mid face lift helps with droopy cheeks and a facelift and necklift addresses the lower part of your face. Not sure about the lifestyle and quicklifts- those are just marketing companies marketing the facelift I think.

Mini Face Lifts are easy fast recovery type of face lifting. All are differing in monor areas but a min is still a mini. Names: Life Style, Quiv=ck Lift, Contour Lift, Q Lift, S Lift, Refresher Lift, etc etc etc. All are still minis.
The two most important things are if you are a GOOD candidate, and the experience of the PS. I ALWAYS recommend the PS have 100 full Face lifts under the belt of experience in order the do a 'short cut' mini lift Makes sense. You can not learn all the surgery ideas in a weekend course! Experience. Experience!. So go see REAL plastics surgeons not marketing companies of minis. Regards Dr. B |

Thanks for the past advice, but I need some more now. I went to see a board certified cosmetic surgeon who does nothing but faces in Cinn., Ohio. He does all kinds of procedures, but did suggest the quick-lift with liposuction to the jaws, a subtuck to correct my neck, and autologous fat transfer below my eyes. He says that the fat transfer lasts for many years and that I would retain about 70-75% of it, but there are some articles I've read that sound like the fat doesn't last. Has anyone had any experience with fat transfer with a face lift? Does it last? How long does it take to recuperate from it? The fat transfer is an additional $3500.00, so I really don't want to waste my money.

A traditional facelift is used to tighten the skin in the neck, jaw, and lower face. The eye area and forehead are not altered by this procedure. Any pain that the patient may have following surgery can be controlled with the use of oral medication. The immediate recovery period for most people is one to two weeks.

Devora,
A few comments about your questions. First, you say that you went to see a "board certified cosmetic surgeon". There is no such certification in the United States. Anything that says "cosmetic" in it is not a regulated board. You may have chosen those words yourself so I don't mean to say that the doctor you saw is not properly certified. You should ask what board is he certified with. It should be the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Mini-facelifts (like the quick lift) are really meant for the area between your eyes and jaw. If you need rejuvenation of your neck you should consider a full facelift. I'm not sure what a "subtuck" is, but if its liposuction of the neck alone it may not be sufficient. Fat transfer to the face is a very useful technique. The results DO last. It is true that up to 30% of the transfered fat may not survive, but what does survive is there for good. I use fat transfer very often with facelifts and get very nice results which would not be possible without the additional fat. The modern techniques all look at facial VOLUME not just tightness. A hollow face looks much older than a fuller one. I realize your post is from one year ago and if you had your procedure already I hope you are very happy with the results. I posted my reply to try to help other people that might have the same concerns. I hope this info helps.
