I watched a local news piece here in the San Francisco area tonight that spoke of a "new" procedure called VIPEEL. It is a solution that is applied to the face ...( can also be used for hands, neck, decolete etc.).....and it is non-invasive, no pain, little downtime and supposedly gives excellent results.
It is supposed to eliminate fine lines and wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation (sun spots) acne, larger pores, uneven coloration and even stating that it gives a slight tightening effect. The hook here is that it is painless and a 7 day healing with minimal discomfort and you are able to go out after the procedure and continue with your life without everyone looking at you like a freak ! Cost starts at $400 a treatment and they say that one treatment may do the trick. Has anyone had this done yet ? Check them out at www.vipeel.com Thanks..... |

Robert,
I am scheduled to have this peel done on Sept. 23rd. I will let you know how it turns out. I can't believe that it is only going to cost me $150 so even if it doesn't work as well as advertised, I'm not out a whole lot of money. Wouldn't it be great if it does work and only costs that much? I was told that it would be best to have the peel done once every few months as a maintenance thing and I think that's what is suggested on the Vi Peel website too. If it works, I have no problem doing it a few times a year! Daisie |

That's great Daisie....................I wish you great success and will look forward to hearing about your results.
I ended up calling Saratoga Laser and Skin Center here in the Bay area where I have had procedures done before and they are now doing the VIPEEL. I spoke with the Nurse who does the treatment and she said VIPEEL is especially good for those with darker skin who previously were unable to have peels and lasers due to discoloration and blotchy results such as Asian, Latino, Indian and African American skin. I have had the "Pallone Procedure" done with them which is an Erbium laser treatment,, coupled with microdermabrasion and Hyralonic Acid at the same time. I had great results from this procedure and she said that the results will be less with the VIPEEL than the Pallone Erbium laser. The downtime is much less with VIPEEL as the solution can only reach certain levels down in the skin unlike the laser which can go deep. They are running a special this month of $250 a treatment for VIPEEL so you are getting a great price at $150. I would see if I could buy a package of multiple treatments at the price of $150 ......if you like it ......so that you could keep the price down for you since you will need multiple applications. My results for the Pallone Erbium laser has lasted over 2 years so I will continue with this even though the down time is more..........totally worth it for me ! Good luck and keep me posted ! |

Robert,
I figured that the ViPeel can't be that great because of the fact that there isn't much down time which to me means that it doesn't go very deep which is exactly what you confirmed. I want something that will even my skin tone, get rid of the sun damage, shrink the pores, and if it lessens the fine lines that's a bonus. It just doesn't sound like I can expect the ViPeel to achieve this so I probably need to do something that goes deeper but I don't want my skin color permanently lightened from it as I have heard that some lasers and peels can do. Did the "Pallone Procedure" permanently lighten your skin? Do you know which lasers or peels are known to do this? I am going back to Versalles Center on Sept.18th to have some smartlipo revisions and they have a SmartXide CO2 dot laser that I am thinking about having done on my face, but again, I don't want the permanent skin lightening. Do you know if this type of laser is known to do that? I do realize that the down time for this one is about a week to 10 days. Thanks for any info you may have to share with me about all of this...I really appreciate it. Daisie |

Hey D.......
NO..........I had no discoloration OR lightening of my skin with the Erbium laser. And, in fact,....it corrected all of the issues that you are wanting to address,.....blotchiness, age spots ( hyperpigmentation ) fine lines and slight skin tightening. I have seen women who have had laser resurfacing of the area around the mouth and I noticed that it is significantly lighter sometimes ,...I guess until it heals. I think this depends on the type of laser used as well. I think the lightening effect may have been older style lasers,...not sure. The CO2 laser that you speak of at Versailles could be another term for the Fraxel laser treatment. Or, could be the new "face machine" that everyone speaks about on this forum that was just implemented down there which could be another name for the same thing. The nurse I spoke with yesterday confirmed for me that the Fraxel did not produce equal results to the Erbium laser. I believe that the protocol for Fraxel is like doing only half your face as the pinpoint laser "dots" intentionally skip over areas so that you have a faster recovery, hence less of your face done. I just finished 4 treatments and a chunk of cash on the "new" Refirm procedure which was a total waste of money for me...............just like Thermage. Whatevere your decision, we all know that we need to ask questions about the number of times Dr's or Nurse's have performed the procedure. You don't want to be on their learning curve. If you want more info.......please P.M. me and we can talk. Good luck, Robert |

My Mood:
|
I had the Vipeel done about 3 weeks ago and I am happy with the results. My problem was that I had dark areas around my mouth that is called pigmentation. It started to get darker and darker with time, I finally got rid of it, and I am so happy. My face looks smooth, its looks even, there is no discoloration at all. The procedure of the Vipeel it does not hurt it just feels like a burning sensation for a little bit then after couple hours you start turning red. Then the 2 day I looked like I was sun burned and my pigmentation around my mouth was super dark. The 3rd day my skin was looking all wrinkle and my face was starting to feel somewhat tight. The 4th day I started to feel tighter that I could barely laugh and talk, and I was starting to peel around my mouth area. Then the 5th and 6th day I was still peeling, and then the 7th day is you last day of the peel. The person that did the Vipeel only charged me $200 for the procedure and I am satisfied with the results.

Glad to know that you are happy with your procedure and thanks for the information. We now have a new alternative to laser treatments with the VIPeel as explained to me, for those with darker skin who in the past, were not candidates for the familiar laser treatments.
