Default Affirm Laser better than Fraxel ?

I have been reading about the Affirm laser, it seems to be a cheaper, safer, better & faster alternative to Fraxel ? has anybody have experience with this ? I am trying hard to find a doctor in San Diego area ?

I had the affirm done 3 weeks ago in alabama at the face clinic. It was totally painless. I am 43 but don't have any wrinkles so the effect I was going for is subtle. (mostly collegen boast and to maintain my nearly flawless skin) I noticed improved skin texture and i'm going for second treatment next month.

hi Veronica
What was the cost per session?? how many sessions were you recommended ?? Any peeling or reddening you noticed after treatment, how long did you take to get back to work ? oops lot of questions, but i am sure it will help others wanting to opt for the procedure!!

Wink Refirme laser treatments vs affirm, thermage, fraxel etc.

Hey Karlerics:

You simply state Fraxel is better than affirm and expect anyone to accept your statement point blank? I don't thinks so. Are you a practitioner, patient or representative for a company with a vested interest? Have you had the procedure, state your case and make your argument for why it is better!! You are going to have to do better than that. Actually I have spoken to a few people who said that Fraxel was a waste of time and money, dito with Thermage. Not to mention pain, side effects and down time. Anyone who wants to look into any of these procedures should do their homework. Research, google, ask others who have personally experienced these procedures and their level of overall satisfaction, cost benefits etc. I personally work with Syneron, E-max, which is called the ReFirme, it was featured on the Rachel Ray show. Depending on what individuals wish to accomplish, you can get modest changes, but never anything like a surgical procedure. The effects are cummulative and continue over a period of four to six months. Recommended follow up treatments to maintain results are every six to nine months. Hopes this helps those for who it is intended.

Hey Westsidegal:

How was your overall experience with Fraxel? How uncomfortable was it and how much down time did you have if any? As for most of the laser procedures currently on the market, some individuals may see a modest change. As for the ReFirme, I have never seen anyone leaving with significant redness and no one has complained about any down time. Clients usually state that the procedure itself is not as bad as they expected, even a few that say it is relaxing. We usually even apply a complimentary mineral makeup and most say they look alot better than when they came in. I would say that if you have a reasonable expectation, you may be happy with your results. If you expect dramatic results, you may be disappointed. I have had women walk out saying wow! And then again I have had some say, I really don't see much after one visit. The manufacturer recommends any where from three to 5 treatments. Just remember there is no technology that is going to change your skin or collagen overnight. It will be a cummulative and progressive result. If you are doing the procedure for tightening, it is generally done over the entire face and neck region. I also want to warn you, it will not eliminate deep lines. The next generation laser, by the same manufacturer Syneron is called the Matrix. Was recently released and I do not have any personal experience with it. It is supposed to really make a difference with wrinkling especially around the mouth and eye areas. I believe the we may be adding it to our services within the next month. Make sure you do enough research to be comfortable with your decision. Good Luck!

Default the fraxel treatment experience

wasn't too bad.
i did NOTtake the nurse at her word about otc meds being powerful enough, and took a codeine pill before having the procedure. this, i'm sure made it much more comfortable.

i knew in advance to expect the peeling and bronzing, so i planned the treatments so that my schedule could accommodate this.
what i didn't know, though, is that the blue dye doesn't completely come off for 2 days. ( so there i am at the supermarket having the cashier whispering to me that maybe i might want to go to the ladies room and look in the mirror. . .)

i never expected the fraxel to accomplish any significant tightening (i had had a mid-face face lift years before, so at the time, tightening wasn't an issue), but i did have expectations that my skin would look less uneven and that the skin under my eyes would look less crepey.

Hey Westsidegal:

There really is not alot to be done for the crepey skin under the eye. You can only get so close to the eye area safely with any tightening laser. There are Dr's that do laser resurfacing under the eye. But you have to be careful, because you can end up with "racoon" eyes. The skin pigment is different until the healing is complete or maybe discolored permanently. The skin under the eye is very thin, so you have to be careful period! You should start off with a good eye cream to moisturize the dryness. When you had your midface lift, did you do anything to your eyes? Also do you mind if I ask how old you are? Good Luck!
