I do understand this, after lipo, we get the desired body shape. What happens to the accumulated fat over time? One of the Baltimore cosmetic surgeon, I was talking did tell me liposuction is not an alternative to weight loss. Is it true?

Hi to all here from a newcomer and thank you for the amazing posts and info.
I'm nearly a month out from SL on abdomen, hips, inner and outer thighs. Still a little numb in places and a feeling of almost being sunburnt in others but overall a great experience. I was off Tylenol by day 7, could see the shape on the back of the hips 48 hours after (1000cc off there) even with the swelling. My swelling has been on and off, sometimes the jeans feel tight and sometimes loose. Incisions healing well, my skin is pale so fading takes a while. Currently very little of the lumpiness I've read about here. I've massaged out by hand the little I've had. I'm 41, family inherited hip and thigh fat that never budged plus a little pudge around the belly button post 40 - no kids so that helps. I can see that the skin still needs to tighten, used arnica on the bruises and Lucas's Paw-paw ointment (its an Australian thing but very affordable and available online, helps promote healing of wounds etc) on the incisions. Exercised after 2 weeks, got swell hell from that. Ditto from too much walking but today I did treadmill and weights and all good. For me it was about body shape/proportion and I'm really happy with that aspect. Still find it weird that the scale didn't shift much and my pants are looser but that's the deal :-) I think the right surgeon is key. Did some research and found a local doctor who I can't praise enough. His staff were great, he was great, a total artist and so understanding of the body. My hubby has SL on his abdomen a week after me, was awake for it (I did a general) and he spoke of the care our doctor took. He wasn't the cheapest around though we figured pay for the expertise and we're reaping the rewards. Not sure if its ok to mention him here but happy to give NorCal folk a heads up via PM. We're off to FL for Memorial Day weekend and I have some new swimwear that I already feel totally hot in *big smile* |

Does anyone know of any highly recommended SL doctors that can be referred to me. Im Still considering Dr. xxxxx in Mexico, But before I make final decision. I have been requested to do more research on other doctors that are really good. Im open to traveling anywhere in the world. Would like to find the best in the world. Please help if you have other recommendations.

Hi everyone ! I am a newcomer here and before I did SL I read and reread these forums so I feel what I am going to do is the right thing for me.
I did SL on my jawline, chin, arms and the bra line on May 21st. Took 2.5 hrs and I woke up in the middle of it but wasn't in pain but due to my fright I told the nurse to put me back to sleep ! I had a pleasant rest in the clinic and was driven home three hours later. Bandages were put on my arms and my jawline - fell asleep and by dinner time I was awake and hungry. Didn't have any pain on the jawline only very sore on my arms. So far the experience with SL was good to me and when I returned to changed bandages the next day - I wasn't bruise or swollen that much. Didn't take any painkiller but was advised to take antibiotic and anti swollen medicine as instructed by doctor. Today is the third day and I feel fine with a bit swollen on my face and arms but I can see the difference on my bra line and side of my breasts. Very happy with the result. Am planning to do the lower part of my body in early June if I am brave enough to do it so soon ! The most important thing is to get a very good doctor who has experience in SL. I chose a foreigner doctor due to his credentials and it cost twice as the local doctor - better be safe than sorry. |
