Colleen,

thanks.. u mind telling where you had your procedure done? i live in the BayArea, i am having my chin, full abs, back and arms.. i am more concern of the chin, as you mentioned..you're lumpy on ur chin. I am taking the bromelain and arnica now as recommended by one of the patients in this forum to reduce swelling and bruising.

I went to Keller Medical Institute, Robert Keller, MD in Monterey. I had my done on 10-9 on my chin, abs and love handles and I am still bumpy on my chin and my abs. They say it takes about 6 months for everything to go back to normal. I hope so because I'm not too happy with the chin right now. I'll keep you advised if there are any changes.

You should carefully read all the discussions posted on this forum about the “after” results on this procedure. If I were you I would do something better with those thousand of dollars. After seeing what I have become, I WOULD NEVER EVER do this procedure again! For some reason, the worst results had been registered in the abs are and for people which were pretty fit but wanted to eliminate de extra bulge.
My worst mistake was to not check any of the feedbacks from real people having this surgery. Too bad I had discovered this forum while desperately looking for solution to fix the after results. You can easily find all my comments on this forum and gradually all my postings from over a year ago when I had my surgery done.
Good luck to you anyway.

Default Re: smart lipo / lumps - due to doc technique?

I'm two weeks out from tumescent/ smartlipo with suction, and I'm pretty lumpy in a few areas of the lower abs, but that's pretty normal for this stage of the healing process, I understand. It's actually most noticeable when the remaining swelling is at it's worst; so at this point, I'm not concerned about a negative long-term result, it's much too early for that. If they're still there at 3-4 months, I'll start getting concerned. I had one lump on my upper left flank disappear overnight the other day. The doctor I have needs to do very few revisions, but does not charge for them when he does.

I wish all of you who have had problems the best in finding a solution, and here's hoping I don't end up with the same problem!

Regarding the lumps, I had my stomach done October, 2008 and here it is, November 4, 2009 and I'm still lumpy and it's ugly. Just thought you wanted to know.

At almost three weeks out, I'm lumpier and more swollen than I was the first two weeks. I can tell it's pretty much entirely the swelling though, because it looks almost normal when I first get up in the morning, and after I've spent any significant amount of time lying down. It starts getting bad after about 9:00 when I've been up for 3.5 hours. I've heard from a number of others who have said that quite a few people go through an "ugly stage" following lipo, and that it can often be the worst between weeks 4 and 8 post-op before it starts getting better. So I wouldn't get too uptight about it yet. Most doctors say that it can often take a good 4-6 months or more to see final result (swelling has gone down all the way). Some people are going to stay swollen longer, and some of this is going to have to do with how much damage was done to the lymphatics during the procedure. That's why a lot of people are recommending lymphatic drainage massage to help out with the recovery process. Some of it is also going to have to do with diet and genetic factors. Diets high in sodium, for example, are going to keep you more swollen longer.

Oops, I didn't notice until now that it had been over a year since you had your procedure. sounds like your doctor didn't do a good job and should offer you a revision.
