Laserlipo - not SmartLipo

Has anyone had the laser lipo that's done with the laser paddles? I'm scheduled for my first visit this week and I'd like some feedback from others who have had it done already.

It's being done in Wichita, KS. I've misplaced the brochure with the official clinic name on it, but I'll find it and post it later. The procedure can be read about on a couple of sites that I found...http://www.slimray.com/ and http://www.laserlipotreatment.com/. It's much less expensive than SmartLipo and has no down time. I couldn't afford the $7500 estimate I was given and opted for this instead. It's $1050 for 30 visits to do my arms, thighs, hips, and abdomen.

You go twice a week for 30-40 minutes per session. I will have my first session on Thursday, the 28th.

I also started laser treatment on my face for some dark spots. I'm very fair skinned and these have sort of just popped up in the past year or so. I'll be 52 on the 29th so I think my age has something to do with it. I didn't think I was vain enough to worry about it but I've been on a new eating plan (i.e., diet - LOL) and lost 35 pounds. With 35 left to go I decided to take care of the spots. I'm glad he told me that the spots would darken up before they got better or I would have been very panicked when I saw them.

Teresa I hope this works for you, but don't put too much faith in it. I did something similar to this years ago and it didn't do a darn thing. Keep us posted. rcraig

I hope it makes enough of a difference that I'm not upset with the cost. At this point, that much money out is a big thing to us. My husband has been off work for most of the year and has been in the hospital five times since Feb 18. He's had two bouts of kidney failure, two bouts of congestive heart failure, two surgeries on his right heel (having #3 on Wed), and had a pacemaker put in. Needless to say it's been a year I don't care to ever repeat. The good news is that he qualified for social security disability the first try and will get his first check in September. He's got multiple other health problems including a partial amputation of his left foot in 2006 so he's got an uphill battle that he's been fighting.

He's agreed to this treatment for me as a birthday gift so I hope he sees some results from it. I'll keep you posted though.

SoapyMom, I'm so sorry to hear that you and your husband have had such a bad year. I hope that things get better for the both of you.

I agree with Rcraig. Be careful. It seems that lipo with the laser only works if you have suction. If you don't have the Dr suck out all of the fat, you won't see any results. Smartlipo had the same claim that it would melt the fat and then your body would dispose of it. This wasn't the case and many people who had laserlipo without the suction saw no results. Now they recommend the suction as well.

You poor thing, what a horrible year for you. I hope your husband improves and doesn't have any further health issues. Bless his heart. Again please be careful about having this procedure. Under your circumstances, I certainly hope you will not be wasting your money. Have you checked to see if anyone in your area has had this procedure? If so you should be able to contact them and see if they had any significant results. Really do some checking before writing out that check! Good luck to you. rcraig

Thanks! I have an appointment on Thursday evening to check it all out. When I was in the first time to pick up some literature I saw that it is a very busy place. There were several people coming in for different appointments. They also do SmartLipo in this clinic. I'll let you all know what I find out.

Good luck to you soapymom - I'm so touched by what your family has been through for the last year - I'm hoping that things continue to get better. I have no experience with the procedure you're seeking but just like rcraig said, see if you can interview their former clients, so that you can make an informed decision about this procedure. Last thing you want is to throw away your money on something that is totally worthless.
