It's been a really long time since I read or posted here, but I see you've had no responses, so here goes. I had SmartLipo in Tijuana two years ago, back before it was really dangerous to go there. I decided to stay put for several days after the procedure and was profoundly glad that I didn't have to fly right away.
I had very extensive work done, 7 hours worth. I flew back home from San Diego on day 5 after the lipo. I had to take a wheelchair from the curb to the flight, then to the curb again when I got to my home city. There were no problems inflight, but it was a short trip of only about one hour. Hope this helps. |

I have not posted here in forever, because I don't like being edited. But as far as flying goes, hopefully nothing here offends anyone, so I won't have to look at a bunch of xxxxxxxxx.......
I had my procedures done, and was on an airplane the next day the first time, and the same day the second time. Both times there was some concern with leaking through my clothes, and there was some soreness that hampered my walking through the airport, but other than that, not really an issue. I was glad it was only a little over an hour flight. I would probably rethink the turn around time if the flight had been longer. I hope this helps ...

That maybe a different situation. There should still be a lot of swelling during that time. You may experience ankle, leg, knee swelling. I did just sitting at my desk.... I would plan accordingly. Lemon water, walking around on the plane, those types of things.

My experience in allowing flying after Smart Lipo or ant form of lipo is if I remove less than 1,000 cc's than Flying the next day ok.
If I remove over 1,000 to 3,000 cc's than I MUST see the patient the next day, or at least 12 hours after the operation, to check on their status. If I remove over 3 liters than a 2 - 3 days in my area is needed. This allows me to provide GOOD MEDICAL/SURGICAL care. Hope that helps. Regards Dr. Darryl J. Blinski, MIAMI |

I was advised against flying for at least two weeks after my procedure (I had lipo & smartlipo). I didn't ask why they gave me that timeframe, but after the procedure, I was in no mood to walk, let alone fly.
