Default order a garment....

luls,
Definitely get something from makemeheal.com. You're uncomfortable enough after the treatment to have a garment that fits badly. Mine is (just got back from Versalles last night) too long shoulder to waste, which leads to bunching and pain and too short waist to knee so my knees are badly swollen. I ordered a Veronique from their site based on the recommendations I read here.
All the best,
Pam

Thanks for the advice Pam. I will add that to my 'to do' list before I go to Versalles!

Another thing to add to your list....when you're there they will have you in compression stockings during the procedure and while you are recovering. When you go home, you'll shower and put on your clean garment...ask them for clean compression stockings and wear them. It will keep you feet and legs from swelling. I forgot to get them and my toes look like sausages. It takes forever to reverse that swelling.

Best of luck....

Pam

For swimming, I bought a pair of guys compression shorts and wear them under my boardshorts. Since they are both black, it's not as obvious!

For everyday, I have used Spanx which I really like except I agree that it just doesn't go up high enough and has a tendency to rolldown. I tried Assets which fit great and loved the high waist and it doesn't roll down...BUT the quality is terrible. After wearing it just once, it started to come unstitched and it's not cheap for something I only got to wear once (20.00).

Go by what your doctor tells you but also if you are still feeling tenderness, you know that healing is still going on... so it's actually feels better to leave the garment on. With everything staying more compact (less wiggle and more support) it is less painful for me to have it on.

I just ordered a garment call Kymaro. I will have to let you know if it's any good or not. I do like that fact that the stomach portion goes on kinda like a shirt (so that it won't roll down) but it comes down around the bra so that it fits on well with your bra. The price was about forty dollars for two complete sets- I got one nude and one black. After reading the reviews, it says to order the top one size smaller than it says because it runs large. I bought it on ubuyitez.com

My Mood:
Default Worth saying again....

Just wanted to add a quick update to this Thread. There are many opinions and recommendations as to what garment you should wear, how long to wear it, etc. Most importantly, I believe you should trust your instincts as well as your doctor's advice. I can tell you from my experiences, you will feel much better wearing a garment that fits properly. This will allow you to wear it throughout the day, and for many more weeks to come. You will find that you feel better in a garment, than out of it, for quite some time. That is why it is key to find a garment that gives you support and comfort.

Catwoman,
I'm getting lipo May 6th and my Doc recommended Veronique 850 for Stage 1 and I see you recommend the Veronique Garment. What about Stage 2 what should I get?
Thanks,
Mia

I have had many procedures (see my "What Price Beauty" thread in the Liposuction forum) and none of them (except my breasts!) score a perfect "10". I either had a slight complication or, on the case of my two previous lipos, unsatisfactory results do to surgeon's skill and limitations of the traditional forms of lipo. But I tell myself, I did not like the way I looked before I had the procedure, so even some improvement is better than the "before". I hope that is the case for you and you continue to heal and see more results.
Well, yeah. If they don't suction the fat out once it's melted with the laser, then it's going to take your body a lot longer to eliminate the liquified fat left in there.

I went with a design veronique garment as well, and it worked well enough. The only problem is that it really bit into my sore sides where the zippers are (I had a lot of trouble with the garment bunching and digging in the sides of the midsection), so the veronique's aren't perfect either. I stopped wearing mine after the first week follow up visit, because I had more symptoms with it on than off (except for swelling). But my doctor said that I only had about 30% swelling left at my one week follow-up, plus I'm in the ideal category (He only removed about 2-3 lbs. total from upper/lower abs, handles and lower back) He also told me that my skin had already reattached and I could go to a stage 2 type garment at this point, or just not wear one at all if the swelling wasn't too bad, which is mostly what I am wearing one for at this point anyway. That was Thursday of last week, and I already can see a further big drop in the level of swelling.

So for those times that I'll need extra support until final result (about 3.5 months away now) I've ordered an Equmen garment, which is kind of like spanx for men.
