Spider,
I don't think you're going to hear from abebe6. I've been trying to get some questions answered by him but he seems to have disappeared. And if you didn't already see it, the doctor who did his procedure responded to his other post and even posted the pictures in defense of himself. I don't think anyone knows if his situation has gotten any better or worse because he doesn't post any more. When are you looking to get your procedure done? |

Hmmm,
thanks for the reply. yes, I saw abebe6 comments regarding the results from his SmartLipo and the doctor who did it. Quite frankly, it's hard to know who's right or wrong. I guess you have to do your research and also be very realistic about any plastic surgery procedure results. That's why it's taking me a while to decide when and where I'm going to get under the knife. I did my lipo in NYC a long time ago when I lived in the city, after extensive homework about the doctor and the procedure. I have to say I was pleased with the results (except I got a unwanted banana roll and the cellulite did not improve). Though I have to admit the fat that was suction out came back with a vengeance... ![]() Oh wellm maybe that's because I let it slip a little...b/c I did not exercise properly, plus hormonal changes and other factors. Now I eat well and workout regularly. I guess I'm ready now. Just need to find a good doctor w/ impeccable skill and care. Any recommendations? Could be any doctor from Coral Gables up to Boca Raton. |

Hi Spider,
I haven't had any personal experience (yet) with any procedures myself, but I will tell you that I am scheduled to have mine done with the doctor that abebe6 bad mouthed. It did make me think a bit after he said what he said, but after he didn't ever follow up with anything on his healing process, whether it be good or bad, then I don't know what to make of that. I don't know if he was quick to make a decision on not being happy because he was too early in the healing process and then he didn't want to come back and say he was wrong or what. I do want to know if he's gotten better or not. That's what I would like for him to share with us, not just come and say things and then never follow up. I'm just not sure what to make of it. I understand him feeling he wants to prevent other people from going thru it, but I think he should keep people informed whether it ended up being a big problem or if it got better. I sent him some PMs in case he didn't want to go off about him in the public forum, but he hasn't responded to that. I also asked him for photos and he never showed them, and then the doctor did. I think that you are never going to find 100% of the people satisfied 100% of the time, and I think that people are more likely to give their feedback on what they didn't like more than what they did like. I did visit a few doctors in the Ft. Lauderdale area, some who do lipo only and some who do multiple procedures, and I ended up feeling the best about that doctor. I liked his manner the best and I liked his photos the best. The most I can do is let you know in a few weeks how it goes. |

Hi to all! I had smartlipo on my stomach in May. Almost 8 months later and I still have some mottling and lumps. After going to endermologie for lymphatic massage and to smooth out the lumps, I went to a cosmetic surgeon in Weston to see what I could do to improve the appearance. I told him I had had Smartlipo and he bowed his head. He told me he sees 3 to 4 people a week who were in the same boat that I was in. He explained that the heat used in the procedure damages your lymph nodes, causes the tissue to scar and leave behind the uneven bumps. He said that it was not so much the technique, but the actual procedure itself!! The extreme heat that the laser generates is the problem. Regular lipo is in reality less trauma to the body!!! For most people, you don't need to be put under general anesthesia anyway, so exactly what is smarlipo saving you?? I have had both procedures done and I can say without a doubt, traditional lipo was much less painful during and after!

I had smartlipo with suction done in March 2009. I saw the difference IMMEDIATELY!!!! I went from a size 12 to a size 8/10, depending on the cut of the jeans. Before I had the procedure, my measurements were 38 (actual chest size, not cup)-38-43-43 (the last 43 was right under the buttocks). Today, I remeasured myself and my current measaurements are 34 (again, the chest size, not the cup)-36-39-36. Since my waist did not shrink as much as I wished, my dr is going to retouch it when I have my next procedure done in Feb 2010. |
