Default Hardness under canula incision site

I have hardness under two canula incision sites on my leg? Should I worry? Has anyone had this? It feels like a round bump under each site. Any feedback would be helpful

Thanks!!

Smile

You beat me to this post. I am day 13 today and bruising to still red and begining to turn yellow. My inner left leg (knee area) is hard but tender and early on underneath in incision sites (only on legs, no problems or bruising on stomach) were hard and very swollen but tender also. Can anyone help us? The hardness around my incision sites went away but on my inner knee the hard site sometimes burns and I get a twinge of pain. It's not rock hard but harder than the right.

Is this just the ropes everyone is talking about? Today I am finally down to my pre-op weight and my dr. took out approx 4000cc's so I am hoping that maybe I have turned a corner. Still VERY swollen in groin area. That area was LSU purple after the surgery, most of my bruising occured here.

The swelling is bad in groin and I hope my lower abs are still swollen because there is a division line between the two areas and it looks like my body is smiling at me when I take the garment off !!!! BUT my lower abs are smaller than before.

Ohno,

Did you say in a previous post that your lower abs were flatter, then bigger? If so, do you think that it is probably swelling still? Seems like if they were flatter--then they would eventually go back down, kwim? Are your lower abs bigger than your upper at this point-or the opposite? I'm just trying to get a mental picture of the "smile". Could it be a crease caused by stitting with your garment?

I had really hard spots in my arm one time after having an IV. I told the MD & he said they would just go away--and they did.

2 days post-op when I took my garment off, my lower abs were almost flat. Now it almost looks like nothing happened in my lower abs. I know it did from the inscisions and the were sore for a couple of days. I also drained a good bit there. They are smaller then before the surgery but they are getting larger so I think it might be swelling. I have been seeing my measurements flux so I have to assume. Clothes still fit and they fit better esp. in the hips. I go see him on Monday for the TriActive so I will ask then. I had hoped to have a quick healing process like some people (don't smoke and very light drinker) but it's not happening but I am seeing results. I guess I will have to wait and see.

Lower abs stick out further than upper abs. Upper abs are looking good, almost flat. But I have a definite division line between lower abs and groin.

I have a division line on my stomach,i am 7 weeks out. I sit at a desk all day, so by the end of the day I have a red line across my stomach. It does not form on the weekend, when I am not sittting as much. Its quite annoying as It does not look like a normal stomach.

I have the same thing in my lower abs. I thought it was kinda funny, the smile thing... BUT I am 6 weeks post-op and my swelling comes and goes in that area. Have you tried lymphatic drainage massage? I have definitely benefitted greatly from that and can tell the day after I have one.

Otherwise - you should just massage the "bumps" - use a lotion or neosporin and massage them lighty in a circular motion. That tissue just needs to break up or so says my doctor when I went to my follow-up appointment. The massage therapist said the same thing. Mine were actually "indented" and then there was the line between so the "smile" was very dramatic!

Thanks Kathy for the info. I feel much better about my smile!!!! I couldn't stand it....I called my Dr. office. They said it's all normal. They are doing the TriActive on me twice a week for 16 sessions starting this monday. The nurse said that the TriActive would help and make a difference. I guess it is very similar to the massage you are talking about.

Thanks for all the info.......

Let us know how the TriActive goes and good luck.... the smile is kinda annoying but I am sure it is not permanent. My doc said she has never had anyone had the smile NOT go away or the incisions stay indented. So that is good news too.

Hi everyone. I've been on vacation and when I got back work was piled to the ceiling, so I haven't been able to post a lot.

Monday was 5 weeks for me. I had a combination of SmartLipo/Tumescent on my Arms, abs and flanks. The abs and flanks were revisional, so I think that's why I'm still swollen and 'morphing'. The ab swelling goes up and down and from side to side at different points in the day. I also sit most of the day and have that annoying crease, but only on the left side of my belly button. I keep trying to massage it out. I'm hoping that it'll go away for good soon.

The arms... talk about morphing. At different times of the day they go from supple and starting to look defined to very taut-stiff-like and you can see the cannula tracks when I try to raise my arms (during that stiffening period). Otherwise, they're looking great. The doc said they're still pretty swollen and should continue to get smaller. (I hope so!) It really helps me get thru all of the 'changes' when I see all of your posts. We're all experiencing similar changes. That's a good think, I think? lol

Triactive is supposed to be very "massagy" and comfortable--so it should knead out some of the lumps, etc.
