I am searching for a doctor in Mexico that does smart Lipo. Can someone also help me with this. I heard of a Dr. Lopez in Mexico. I received ref's from them. But I would like to hear more information from other people that have used her. She is associated with Versalles Center. Any input for me. Im going to do my abs, thighs, arms and back. That is 4 procedures at one time.

You are apparently referring to Dra. Maria Lopez at the Versalles Center. Despite SmartLipo being a complete waste of money for me, I can still tell you objectively that Dra. Lopez is very skilled with the procedure. You really need to do lots of research to determine if SmartLipo (laser-assisted lipo) is worth the increased cost for you.
As a "newbie", you should learn to use the Search function (top blue bar) to research your questions. There is a world of information in previous posts, and you will find the answers to most of your questions. SmartLipo is simply the name given to the procedure by the manufacturer of the equipment, Cynosure. It has various other names but is still basically just laser-assisted lipo......no matter what you call it. I know another PS physician (coincidently in the same building as Dra. Lopez) who does quite good work as well. You are welcome to PM me for details. Best......... |

skolari@aol.com,
Send me a pm if you are still interested in Dr Lopez as I had many areas smartlipo'd by her and I would be happy to share my story with you which I think would benefit a lot!! Daisie |

Once again- I have no idea as to what you are referring to! Not at all . . . I am simply a new patient of the versalles clinic who has had a positive experience - why don't you google me and get a better sense of my background - I will say I find you quite insulting and would hope you get your information correct.

wow! What a glowing summation, Judit. Somebody should ask the question "where is the closest hospital?" to the new clinic when things go bad. Also, they have been "revamping" their site for two years or more, and still no pics or info on the doctors credentials.
FYI Dr. Lopez is not a board certified/trained surgeon. She wasn't two years ago and I doubt she has had the time to become one since opening her lipo business. They use the term "Board Certified" loosely on their site without being specific to doctors or field. I had my procedure at Versalles two years ago and wish I had waited until more info became available. I had no medical complications, thank God, but Dr. Lopez is no more skillful than many other doctors that are more qualified to do this here in the USA. If you are making decisions based on cost, you would be much more prudent to save for it or finance the procedure than going to Mexico to save $$. One scary practice that they did when I was there was to have you shower the very next day before they put in your garment. I was not sure this was a good idea to expose open wounds to the water that you wouldn't even drink! Guess that's why they load you up with antibiotics before they send you on your way. Don't be lured by the "resort like setting" etc. ect. etc. It is no picnic travelling after a medical procedure, I can tell you from experience. If you want to go to Mexico, go on vacation. Don't confuse a vacation with a medical procedure because someone said it was "fabulous" at Versalles. Things have not always gone so "rosy" at Versalles as some would have you believe. It happens everywhere as there are no crystal balls or guarantees. But think long and hard of where you would want to be if an emergency did arise. I took the risk and shudder everytime I replay it in my head. Choose your doctor carefully, and your venue even more carefully. As Dorothy once said to Toto "There's no place like home"!![]() |

Catwoman.....be careful! A center's representative PM'd me and threatened me with their legal team!!!! What do you do about those pesky posters who haven't had good experiences and talk about it??? Intimidation, I guess.

Hi, LadyDi
I got the same PM saying she has forwarded this thread to her lawyers for legal action. It didn't deserve a response from me. I am speaking from real experience and public information. Guess if you don't have glowing remarks about your experience, "someone" does not want to hear it. It's all about freedom of speech and choice, isn't it? Hey, if someone wants to go to Mexico for lipo, that is their decision. I have always said make your choice based on good sound research, not on price, or just on information from this Forum, for Pete's Sake! Get the big picture. I will keep on speaking the truth about my experiences, good and not so good. ![]() |
