Who do you feel are the best plastic surgeons that specialize in rhinoplasty especially working with the tip of the nose....... and does anyone know ( or has had) any rhinoplasty done by Dr. David Rosenberg in NYC? Dr. Rosenberg is now one of the best plastic surgeons that is great for face lifts. I'm not sure how he is for noses.

I had rhinoplasty about 2 years ago and I love my results. But getting to that point took a lot of work. I remember taking a long time to choose my surgeon. So don't rush!!! Consult with as many doctors as you can. And trust yourself. If you do your homework and do several consults you'll know when it's right. I never consulted with Dr. Rosenberg. I had my surgery done by Dr. Paul Nassif in Beverly Hills...here's his link www.rhinoplastyspecialist.com
Hope that helps. Jessica |

I like John Sherman & Tony LaBruna. I work with Dr. Sherman & can vouch that he does a great job, especially with the tip. I used to work with Dr. LaBruna & really like his work. He is also ENT. I have done a few cases with Rosenberg & cant remember him doing noses. He does a good face, but so do a lot of other people. I am an anesthesiologist working in doctor's offices & private ORs in Manhattan. Melinda

My favorite plastic surgeon for noses is Dr. Anthony (Tony) LaBruna.
Dr. John Sherman also does a great rhinoplasty. Dan Baker, MD too. I would not go to David Rosenberg for noses. Melinda |

Dear Melinda,
I respect what you said. Sometimes we get too wrapped up in what a magazine says when it's probably well placed (and paid for) PR. I checked out Dr. Rosenbergs noses and to be honest they didn't look special. I believe the best in L.A. is Dr Kanodia by far. I live in NY though and I'm actually interested in a doctor who does GREAT faces. Have you in your experience run into any and if so do any of them do the "vertical facelift" like Renato Calabria in L.A.? again I feel like a sucker for a popular name but I'm most interested in the procedure where instead of pulling the skin sideways and up they pull it straight up and hook it under the eyelids etc...his website is verticalfacelift.com. The results I've seen there are incredible but I know he can't be the only doctor who does this technique with great results but I don't know maybe he is? I appreciate you taking the time to ask around to your colleagues as this is a big/serious decision when it involves your face and I trust someone like you who works in the field and has a grounded opinion! Thanks so much, Camille |

I really believe this is marketing hype. All facelifts have a vertical component - really 3D to match the muscle & boney anatomy of the face. I asked several of my facial plastic colleagues about it & they all thought it was a marketing gimmick. Really when you think about it, anchoring sutures under the eyelids doesnt make sense. They might mean the zygoma bone or cheekbone. If you dont have high cheekbones, then it would all sag. If you do have high cheekbones, then you probably dont need surgery. Altho, it may be a fancy way of saying they are anchoring to the masseter muscle just beneath the cheekbone - which is commonly done. I dont know why you feel you have to travel all the way to LA when we have such good surgeons here: Darrick Antell, John Sherman, Dan Baker - just to name a few.
I hope this has been helpful information. Melinda |
