Study Findings
a. Teeth-whiteners successfully help in whitening the teeth.
b. Long-term usage of teeth-whiteners resulted in tooth sensitivity and gum irritation, particularly in products with high concentration of hydrogen peroxide.
c. Study found that these side effects perished once people stopped using these products.
d. Whitening strips with 5.5 to 6.5% hydrogen peroxide were found to be more effective than gel with 10% carbamide peroxide in trays.
e. The study review did not include abrasive products.
