Short naps range from 10 seconds to 90 minutes and are given a variety of names depending on the time of the naps. A nap which lasts for 10 to 20 seconds is called a nano-nap, a nap which lasts for 2 to 5 minutes is called a micro nap, a nap which lasts 5 to 20 minutes is called a mini-nap and a nap for 20 to 30 minutes is called a power nap.

Advantages
a. It can increase a person's productivity.
b. It works as a mood enhancer, stimulates memory, increases learning and lowers stress.
c. It induces the brain to work at its maximum capacity all day.
d. It helps the heart, hormones and cellular rejuvenation.

Disadvantages
a. It can induce sleep-inertia in a person.
b. Sleep inertia can cause the limbs to feel like concrete and disrupt with focusing of eyes.
c. It can also make the mid sluggish.
