A team of researchers at the Mayo Clinic have found that, people who have undergone gastric bypass surgery for weight loss are at a risk of developing kidney stones. The urine composition of people who have undergone gastric bypass has changed considerably after their surgery.

Study Findings
a. Several bio-chemical changes were noted in urine of those who have undergone gastric bypass surgery.
b. Increased level of oxalate and reduced level of citrate was noted in them, which could put them under risk of kidney stone formation.
c. No changes were noted in kidney function after gastric bypass.
d. Study suggests the change in dietary habits for those who have undergone gastric bypass is the cause of they being at risk of kidney stone formation.
