The injuries caused, due to cosmetic procedures performed by unqualified and untrained people is increasing at an alarming pace. The people are visiting these amateurs, especially for non-invasive procedures in a belief that qualified physicians services are not required in such cases. In a survey conducted by American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, about half of 2,400 members questioned reported injuries caused by high-tech cosmetic treatments done by non-physicians. These mushrooming beauty saloons are taking toll of patients' health causing bacterial and fungal infections, allergic reactions and burns. For example, take the case of laser treatment, the light intensity needs to be adjusted for different toned skins, possibly can be done by a qualified physician only.
