The annual lingerie show of Paris saw quite a few lingerie that can help women slim down and make a man feel cool and fresh. These are the new generation under garments codenamed cosmeto-textiles. Though opinion was divided on these innovative items, these were nevertheless the highlight of the show.

a. These are innovative and high-tech fabrics containing slimming agents, perfumes and creams.
b. Detractors say that though it is being projected as a must have for every man and woman it can just turn out to be a passing fad.
c. Many companies have intensively researched and proved that the technology works and has the potential to be a commercial success.
d. Onixxa, established in 2003, today boasts of slimming tights and slimming jeans.
e. Adidas, Nike and L'Oreal are also interested in developing similar products.
f. Canadian textiles giant Invista, has already launched its Lycra Body Care trademark that uses aloe vera moisturizers, nutrients derived from seaweed or perfumes in their fabrics.
g. Italian company, BioFarm, has a fabric containing nano-particles of silver that kills bacteria present on the skin.
h. Cosmeto-textiles contain tiny capsules of cosmetics which break when the fabrics rub against the skin.
i. One downside of the Cosmeto-textiles is that they can only sustain up to 20 to 40 washes.
