A man from central China’s Shanxi province Lu Lihua, underwent orthopedic surgery for the third time on May 30, 2006, to reduce the height of his cheekbone, which would narrow his face and improve his appearance. Lu's doctor Zhang of Xian Women’s Hospital expressed confidence over the success of plastic surgery, after performing 3-hour operation and felt that it would turn Lu into a handsome guy.

Lu signed a contract with Xi'an Women's Hospital for three cosmetic operations at a cost of 0.4 million (U.S. $50,000) in 2004. Lu underwent his first surgery in Xi'an, central China Shanxi province in October 2004, in which 11 points on his face including eyebrows and his upper and lower eyelids were altered.
