Researchers of University of Missouri have developed a technology that can detect melanoma (a form of skin cancer) at a very early stage. The current detection techniques can only detect tumors which are of the size of a marble.

Procedure Highlights
a. In this procedure a sample of blood is taken and sent to lab, where lasers zap it.
b. In case melanoma is present the cells make sound which is detected by machine. If melanoma is present machine graph spikes.
c. The machine can show, whether tumor cells are spreading or decreasing in number.
d. Scientists are willing to try this method to detect breast cancer.
