botox-0206.jpgThe Skin Center Medical Spa, with locations in Pennsylvania and Ohio, is now offering Botox® as a treatment for Hyperhidrosis, more commonly known as excessive underarm sweating. Excessive sweating is caused by the over stimulation of the sweat glands. People suffering with Hyperhidrosis, produce 4-5 times of more sweat than the normal one. A small amount of Botox, is injected into the underarm area. In one study, 81% of patients treated with Botox® resulted in more than 50 percent reduction in sweating. Botox® treatment for excessive sweating is not a cure, but only temporary. The Botox® injections have to be repeated every four to six months to avoid the symptoms from re-appearing.
