botox-0106.jpgA few years ago Eric Finzi, a dermatologist in Chevy Chase, MD got the idea of injecting Botox—into the foreheads of patients suffering from clinical depression. According to a report published last week in the journal ‘Dermatologic Surgery’, it helped in nine out of 10 cases—nearly twice the success rate claimed for antidepressants. Finzi—who has applied for a patent on using Botox for depression—admits that more, controlled studies has to be undertaken to confirm his results. Clinical psychologists reacted to the study with a bit of skepticism.
