A new treatment to treat cellulite was introduced at the American Society of Plastic Surgeon meeting in San Francisco. A New York plastic surgeon has claimed that Injecting Collagenase (an enzyme naturally found in the body) into the body part which is mostly affected by cellulite has shown results in reducing cellulite. This new treatment has to be tested thoroughly as it is tested only on 10 women successfully. Satisfactory results were noticed in the women within 6 months from the time of the treatment. The collagenase injection when injected on the women breaks down the areas of scar tissue and fat tissue and also reduces the dimpled look. The trial treatments on the women resulted in bruising and swelling at the injected area and lasted for not more than a week. It is said that after completion of the required tests this new treatment will be available in a few years.
