The first hyaluronic acid filler containing lidocaine has recently been approved by the Food and Drug Administration of the United States. Prevelle Silk from Mentor, Santa Barbara, California., was approved following a controlled clinical study that showed that patients experienced significantly less pain during injection with the product as compared to an HA product without lidocaine. With this approval, industry players are hopeful that more HA fillers containing lidocaine will soon enter the US market
