A new laser from Cutera represents the first application of the 2790 nm wavelength for cosmetic dermatology. Pearl, which uses the proprietary YSGG technology, had been earlier cleared by the FDA in March 2007, has now received CE Mark Approval. This laser has the ability to rejuvenate skin surface with hardly any downtime.

Highlights of the CE Mark Approval
a. The approval indicates that Pearl has met the safety, health and environmental standards set by the European Union.
b. Following the approval Cutera will start the shipping of this product to countries that recognize the CE Mark.
c. This will be marketed as a minimally invasive laser to reduce wrinkles, uneven texture, age spots and sun damage.
d. This product is now available on Cutera's Xeo platform, as an upgrade to all existing customers, and also as a standalone unit.
