Keloids are raised scars which are formed after an injury. It can be embarrassing as it spoils one's appearance as they look unsightly. These are formed during the process of body healing an injury at the time when body pushes more collagen toward the site of injury, resulting in formation of a hard mass called keloid. Although it is a daunting task to treat keloids there are various treatment options available.
Treatment Options
a. Steroid injections are injected into keloids. This dries off the keloid.
b. Keloid is cut with laser and the site is injected with steroid to avoid re-formation of keloid.
c. Silicone gel and sheetings are used to treat keloids.
